Informative
Event Description:
These instructions will appear on all judge ballots for Informative:
Time Limit:
5-10 minutes with a 30 second grace period (Anything over results in the student being scored one rank less than they would have been otherwise).
Description of event:
Competitors in an informative event write a speech to inform. It could be an issue (e.g. bee epidemic) or it could be something that happens everyday (e.g. hair cuts). The competitors are allowed “props” or visuals to help them portray the idea excluding electronics, banned items (i.e. weapons), live animals, or other people. Visuals are by no means required but if used, should add to the presentation in a meaningful way.
