Poetry

Event Description:

Poetry is a scripted event and proper use of script is important. Selections for interpretation by the contestant may be a single poem, a cutting from a longer poem, or a group of related short poems. During the presentation, the contestant must name the author and the title of the poem(s). The contestant must use a manuscript in a binder. Please verify last name and contestant code on the ballot, and indicate the round number at the top of the ballot.

The presentation should not be less than 5 minutes, nor greater than 10 minutes, with a 30-second grace period either way. There will be no hand signals given to the contestant.

Considerations: Is the material suitable for the contest? How was the delivery? Did the judge feel the contestant interpreted characters correctly and consistently?
