Musical Ensemble Dance Number
Event Description:
a. The song that the ensemble is performing to must be from a musical that was on Broadway or is currently on Broadway.
b. The ensemble dance and any spoken introduction must not exceed five minutes in length. Points will be subtracted from the score if you exceed this limit.
c. The dance must be memorized.
d. When submitting the recording, please also submit the title and composer of the song
e. If using an accompaniment track, please make sure the music is clear in the recorded video.
f. Please be mindful of appropriate clothing that would be acceptable in a theatrical competition. Discretion is left up to the director of the school the students is competing with.
g. The dance number should not be copied from musical choreography, but an original display of the director or student’s work.
h. This event will be prerecorded and submitted a week before the date of the live competition. Please see above performance dates for each school.
