We are constrained by the schedule to an hour and forty-five minutes for each round. That means that prep will start during other event's timeslots. The location of prep will be send out prior to the tournament. Prep will be in VLBS 2040, which is a smaller lecture hall.

A few of you have asked questions of the tournament that I want to address before folks start to travel.

  1. Please have printed cases for all prepared rounds ready to go for the weekend. We will not allow students to read from a computer unless there is a documented accommodation. Coaches if you have that, please email me directly.
  2. Please bring paper for prep during impromptu rounds. We will not allow for internet prep during that time as you all will be in a small lecture hall/in other spaces for that hour. I, along with other coaches, will be monitoring students during that hour to mirror Nationals and other invitationals held in person.
  3. An average score per student is a 70. The highest student will probably get a 73 or so. The lowest student will be around a 67. There are some places for half points. For a tournament with 42 teams right now having a standardized norm is important for the purposes of breaking to elims without an extremely high points shifting a team or not.
  4. If you are new to judging Worlds, hereis a great set of resources from NSDA (click on the WSD section).
