The Team Pittsburgh Winter Invitational

2021 — NSDA Campus, PA/US

Congress judging? What you should know!

If you are judging -- either as a parliamentarian or as a scorekeeper - please note:

1- Scorekeepers should write comments for each speech delivered.  Please use the dropdown box by a student's name to write your comments as the session progresses.  Save often!!  But write comments AND give points for every speech that a student gives!!!
2 - Scorekeepers rank only the first 6 contestants in the chamber. Our software will autorank all of the remaining students as a "7."
3 - The presiding officer should be ranked among the members of the chamber.
4-  Remember to assign points (different than the ranking at the end of the session! See #2 above) to EACH speech that a student gives.  Points are the "opposite" of ranks.... the better speeches get higher points!  (range is 1 to 6, but please, does anyone really deserve a 1? start at 3)
4 - Scorekeepers should submit ranks as soon as the session ends.

1- Parliamentarians - we are following PHSSL rules!  You should conduct a random draw to set up the calendar for the day.
2- Parliamentarians - we are using direct questioning after speeches.
3- Parliamentarians should rank ALL the students in the chamber!
4 -Please submit your ranks as soon as your last session ends!

ALL students and adults should keep their cameras on throughout the competition. If a student is having trouble with clarity because of short bandwidth, you may ask all to turn their cameras off while that student is speaking.
All individuals should mute their microphones if they are not speaking.

Please try to follow the tournament schedule as closely as possible!!!

REMEMBER -- TEXT GOOGLE VOICE 412-376-3490 IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS OR PROBLEMS ON THE DAY OF THE SYNCHED TOURNAMENT!  BE SURE TO GIVE US YOUR NAME AND BE SPECIFIC ABOUT YOUR QUESTION OR PROBLEM!!  (ROOM, ROUND, EVENT, ETC. )
