Local Restaurant Recommendations

My wife and I have made some “keep it local” recommendations for you while you're visiting.  We frequent all of these restaurants and the list begins with places close to the hotel and school.

Nunu’s Mediterranean Cafe-affordable great local place started by a Lebanese family, one of my favorite places.

Café 7 Delicatessen-Nice café with a neat concept everything is $7 and it's very good; they have great pizza’s, pastas, salads, and sandwiches.

S&B's Burgers-Great burger joint with original concept sliders, and some unique french fry options.

Nhinja Sushi & Wok-Asian fusion, with wok dishes and some creative sushi options (some sushi for beginning sushi eaters)

Panang2-If you want Thai food this is the only stop in north OKC you need.  I love this place. Everything on the menu is great but the green curry fried rice is my favorite.

Poblano Grill-Oklahoma style tex-mex, the free salsa, queso and dessert sopapillas make this a local favorite.

Hideaway Pizza-Oklahoma City's top rated local pizza joint has a huge variety of pies and various locations.

Rococo Northpark-if your looking for an upscale fine dining enviornment close to the school this is it.  This place is great and you may want to make reservations on Friday-Saturday.

The next few places are further away but if you have time or willing to drive 15-30 min they will be worth your while.

Big Truck Tacos-Popular food truck turned sit down restaurant, creative Mexican inspired dishes and tacos.  They have recently showing up on national top 25 taco shop lists.  What’s in the 5th amendment today?

Mutts Hot Dogs-Creative foodie spin on hot dogs

Cheever’s Café-Great American style food, I love this place.

The Wedge Pizzeria-Foodie style brick oven pizza, its great

Kitchen 324-It's downtown but everything is locally sourced, with an updated modern take on American rustic food.

The Mule-Winner of the best sandwitch shop in OKC--and according to my wife they have the "best blt she has ever eaten in her life."   That's high praise folks---trust me.

Pops-Diner and soda specialty store, over 1000 varieties of soda from around the world makes this place worth the 25 min drive from the hotel; warning if you go you’ll think you're driving out in the country then you’ll see the huge neon soda bottle.

Cattlemen’s Steak House-this place is Oklahoma, one of the oldest restaurants in town built right next to the stockyards long ago.  Best steaks in town for the price.

If you like Vietnamese food, OKC is your place, we have a very large Vietnamese community with many Pho soup houses all over town and some very authentic places in the downtown Asian district.

We hope you enjoy your time in Oklahoma City and if you have any other restaurant questions feel free to ask.
