Event Description:

10 minute prose or poetry performance by a single competitor which is compiled from works authored and published by a persons/entities who are not the competitor. Competitors must utilize a handheld "program" booklet which contains their script. Competitors will refer to the program during their performance. 30 second grace period for going over the 10 minute mark. If the time of the performance is over the grace period, the competitor must not be ranked 1st in the section. Competitors may not time themselves, but may ask and receive time signals from judges.
