North Mecklenburg Viking Classic

Students present speeches on current domestic and foreign issues. Students are presented with a choice of three questions and, in 30 minutes, prepare a four-to seven- minute speech answering the selected question. Students may consult articles and evidence they gather prior to the competition. Topics range from country-specific issues to economy to foreign policy. NSDA guidelines will be followed.
Laptops and other electronic devices with internet access may be used.
The maximum time limit is 7 minutes. Students exceeding the time limit by more than 30 seconds cannot receive a first-place rank.
