Event Description:

The debate will follow the standard 6-3-7-3-4-6-3 format, with 4 minutes of prep time.

The MHSAA Manual will govern Lincoln-Douglas Debate.

Novice and Varsity divisions WILL NOT be combined, regardless of entry numbers. 

Novice topic - Resolved: Civil disobedience in a democracy is morally justified.

If a novice competitor chooses to prepare for the (Varsity) healthcare topic instead of Civil Disobedience, they may (and should) be registered for the Varsity division.

A Novice competitor is defined as one in their first year of high-school speech and debate competition. Please contact the tournament director if you have questions about a student's eligibility for novice status.

Entry limit: 6 entries

Judge quota: 1 judge per 2 entries. Judges must be available for Friday and Saturday.
