Event Description:
Policy debate is two teams of two debating each other, debating about enacting policy changes in the United States. One team will be the affirmative, and one will be the negative. In preliminary rounds who is negative and who is affirmative will be predetermined, but in out rounds this will be determined by a coin flip. The affirmative team will present a plan for a change in water policy, and it is the negative jobs to convince you why the affirmative team’s plan is bad. Speakers should be judged on speaking ability, argument quality, and their ability to uphold their arguments, tear down opposing arguments, and convince the judge that their plan of action is the most correct.
