Event Description:

United States Extemp and International Extemp:

  1. Time Limits: 30 minutes to prepare the speech, 7 minute speech limit

  2. Contestants will pick one question from a selection of three questions

  3. Students speaking from notes will be ranked last

All Speech Events:

  1. Ties will be broken in the following order: ranks, judges preference (where 3 or more judges are present), reciprocals. If entries are still tied they will either all advance or tie for the final position.

  2. All speech events (with the exception of congress) have a 30 second grace period
