Speed is good, but speaking clearly is also important. Slow down if you need to.

pf: speed is fine, cards should be well cut, bring up everything you want me to know in your speech, framing should happen in constructive or top of the rebuttal, disclosure also needs to happen in constructive, no new offensive arguments past rebuttal - offense needs to be extended in summary, your links should be coherent, if something important happens in cross, make sure to also mention it in subsequent speeches, summary and final focus should mirror each other, tech > truth but remember that one to an extent determines the other, for progressive arguments i will try my best to evaluate them but probs not to the extent of an ld/cx judge so keep that in mind when running them; postround me till you understand my decision
congress: clash! warrant your arguments and weigh your impacts - comparative framework works best since there are so many arguments made in the round / internal links need to be coherent / i am open to diff types of arguments and structures / too much rehash = lower rank, but a good constructive with clash will be ranked high. make sure to be engaging (don't rely too much on reading off the pad), but remember that this is a debate event in the first place - no canned agds pls - try to find a uniqueness that works for you; sources (reputable and academic in nature) need to be cited and used always, with that being said your research is just one part, but your analysis is what matters most / good crystals will be ranked high - but it needs to go above weighing in the comparative framework --> in addition to that extend your side with new impact or evidence, win the side and debate overall. pls don't use a questioning block just to agree with a speaker, this time should be used for rebuttal. be convincing, but respectful; be active - congress is all about strategy / win the game; being aggressive (yelling and getting mean) doesn’t make you win the round
- for po's: i will rank you, but you need to know rules/structure of debate and be able to move the debate along smoothly, i shouldn't need to interfere, but i will always keep a chart to keep track - if there are consistent errors i will rank you lower
ie: do what you need to do, all topics can be super interesting, but make sure to always be aware of your surroundings and give proper trigger warnings
feel free to ask me questions before the round starts!
have fun!!

I've competed and state qualified in Congress, Extemp, and PF, TOC qualified in both extemp and congress and know those events well, I've done some PF and understand it but not quite as well.
Congress
Congress is called Congressional Debate for a reason, so make sure you use clash and debate other competitors. This means that you need to call out competitors on the other side of debate when you have a point that conflicts with theirs. After a single cycle of debate you should start to clash other competitors, if you don't this will literally just become an awkward extemp round. If you don't know how to clash, ask me at the start of the round I would much rather explain it than sit through a full round of congress without debate taking place.
Also, I'm going to make this really, really clear right now: if your argument is "it adds to the national debt" or "this agency is corrupt" your argument better be relevant to the actual debate. You can't just argue that adding to the debt is bad or that corruption is bad, you need to have an actual impact. Too many people use these arguments without clear impacts, they're pretty dumb without impacts and if they don't make much sense I will reflect that in your ranking.
On a lighter note, same thing as with extemp, I love funny AGDs!
Extemp
Quantifiable impacts are a really good idea
Please make sure you have transitions of some kind in your speech, transitions don't just make your speech better, they also help me keep track of where you are in your speech
I love funny AGDs and if you make me laugh I'll make sure to reflect that in your ranks.
PF
Tech>truth
I don't eval cross
I'll vote down any racist, homophobic, or sexist argument (literally just don't argue them, use your brain!)
I'm ok with speed but send me your case before you go fast or I may not keep up with your argument
Speed is not the same thing as spreading, if you spread you're gambling on my ability to keep up, if I can't then it's on you (I can generally keep up with more speed if I get the doc that you're reading)
Hey! I've been debating on the Anderson debate team for the past 4 years, and have done PF all 4 years, World Schools for two years, and Extemp for 2 years as well.
For PF:
1. Please weigh! The phrase "we outweigh" does nothing unless you explain using weighing mechanisms.
2. Clear extensions, organization, and signposting is a must. Extend all parts of the argument in summary.
3. Be nice, there is a difference between being assertive and rude. :)

Tech
Diction matters more in online competition than in face-to-face competition. In synchronous rounds, please emphasize your diction more.
I'd recommend you make sure the camera is perpendicular to your eyes/face. The angle coming from below sometimes makes viewing facial involvement unclear.
Preferences
Content Warning before your pieces. If you have any belief that your content could upset someone, you owe it to your audience to prepare us. Plot twists are not worth hurting your audience.
I really evaluate the quality of the cut/writing in close rounds.
A cut needs to have a clear beginning, middle, and end. The beginning means the characters, relationships, and problems are introduced. A perfect teaser has these elements. The middle shows the characters attempting and failing to resolve a problem. The end discusses whether characters resolve or fail to resolve the problem and then what happens because of that.
Public address speeches follow some kind of previewed and road-mapped structure to the speech.
Event Specific
Info
I don't evaluate the lack of VAs as negative. I evaluate overused or nonhelpful VAs as a negative.
OO
I value empirics. I don't believe something is inherently a problem that affects everyone until you show me with a source that it affects people more than yourself.
DI
I value verisimilitude in the characterization and the blocking.
HI
Characterization matters the most. I value clear characters and efficient movement between the characters.
I also really pay attention to the resolution of the problem in HI. If the problem is resolved in a sentence or through an apparent unknown force. I blame the cut.
Duo
Blocking should highlight the conflict between the characters.
I find speaking towards the camera instead of pretending the two are in the same piece to be more believable.
POI
Characterization should be clear.
Extemp:
Tech
Time yourself for synchronous rounds. I don't trust internet connections to be consistent to allow me to give you effective time signals.
I can tell if you're reading off of your computer.
Sitting or Standing don't matter to me.
Preferences
I will flow the speech and validate any questionable claims.
Link back to the question always. Tell me why you are answering questions.
