The debateLA Lincoln-Douglas Round Robin Information & Schedule

The debateLA LDRR will have a field of 16 debaters - invitation-only. If you are interested in receiving an invitation to the debateLA LDRR, please email Mike Bietz at mbietz@hw.com.

Entry fee: $150/debater. This includes lunch on both days for the debater and judge.

Judge requirement: Each debater must provide one qualified judge to participate. The provided judge must be approved by the tournament director. The name of the judge must be submitted by Monday, December 10 at 5:00pm PST - when all fees are frozen or you will be charged the hired judge fee.

Hiring judges: A limited number of judges are available to be hired for a fee of $400. Note: this is the fee only covers the Round Robin. The tournament will have its own hired judge fee.

Tentative Schedule: Rounds will begin on Thursday morning. Teams traveling from out of town should arrive on Wednesday evening. Rounds will conclude on Friday evening. If you have other members of your team flying in on Friday to participate in the tournament-proper, the hotel provides an airport shuttle.

Rounds will be flighted, but we are going to try really hard to have judges in single-flights. This will give judges and debaters the opportunity to have post-round discussions without delaying the tournament.

As of now, we are planning on having 4 pods of 4 debaters. Each debater will debate everyone in their pod on both sides.

Additional notes:

1. All participants in the Round Robin must disclose arguments on the NDCA wiki, and must remain up during the duration of the Round Robin and tournament.

2. All competitors must have an audio recording form on file with Tim Mahoney by Monday, December 10 at 5:00pm PST or you risk losing your spot in the Round Robin. His contact information is on the form, which can be found on the right sidebar.
