Angel Guidance for Speech

While novices are encouraged to be as memorized as possible, we understand that some competitors may feel better having their scripts nearby. If this is the case, we strongly suggest that competitors have their scripts in the types of mini-black binders commonly used in POI (Dimensions  5″x8″.5″). This will make the binder easier to hold while performing and making eye-contact.

While competitors may enter up to two events in Speech, they are strongly discouraged from entering either Extemp and any other event, as the timing of doing so gets tricky.

If a competitor chooses to enter more than one event, they should write down their "conflict" on the door of each room where they will be competing, compete in the room where they are earlier in the speaking order, ask to leave when they finish, and then report to the second competition room ASAP.
