Berkeley High School Parli Invitational

2022 — NSDA Campus, CA/US

East Coast Blizzard

The East Coast is experiencing a blizzard, which could result in power outages. We hope that all participants will be spared the worst effects of the storm, and will remain safe.

Here are some suggestions to deal with the storm in the context of this tournament.

- Everyone should pay attention to whether any participant disappears from the round room unexpectedly, especially if a judge or debater is on the East Coast. If someone drops out of the room unexpectedly, pause the round and either try to contact the person (in the case of a debater), or notify Tab (in the case of a judge) at berkeleyparli@gmail.com. Each team has ten minutes of "tech time" to try to resolve any technical issues that arise during the round.

- If you are a judge and lose power, email Tab immediately at the above address if you still have the ability to do so.

- It is a good idea for everyone to install the Jitsi Meet app on their phones now. If your home loses Internet but your phone still has connectivity, you may be able to continue a round on your phone.

- Remember that you can dial in to Zoom with a phone call. Instructions are here, but basically, you call in, enter the Meeting Id, and then enter the Passcode.
