Event Rules/Resolutions

An event may be cancelled if it does not get enough entries.

Debaters may not enter in any other speech or debate event.

Speech competitors may enter in a maximum of two speech events.

Novice LD

Resolution: The United States ought to promote democracy in the Middle East.

4 minutes of prep time per debater.

Computers are allowed in round, but Internet may not be accessed.

Novice Parli

Round 1 topic area: Transportation

Rounds 2 and 3 will not have pre-announced topic areas.

Computers and Internet are allowed during prep time, but not in round.  

Competitors may only prep with their partner. No team or coach prep is permitted.

The topic committee will consist of the #1 and #2 parli teams in the country - Nadia Cochinwala, Basil Abushama, Steven Herman, and Spencer Dembner. Topics will be vetted by Artem Raskin.

Novice PF

Resolution: Resolved: The United States should withdraw its military presence from Okinawa. (March NSDA Topic)
