_____

This is a runoff tournament for West OK District.

Students must have competed at the district tournament to be eligible for the WS team.

Students will compete ONLINE individually (not as a team) for up to 10 spots on the West OK World Schools teams. The format will be like extemp debate utilizing IMPROMPTU WS-style motions. It will NOT be the WS format. Motions will be released approximately 30 minutes before the round.

We believe it will take 4-5 rounds.

The West OK District can enter up to two teams of up to five students each.

SCHEDULE:

Round 1 4:00 pm

Round 2 5:00 pm

Round 3 6:00 pm

Round 4 7:00 pm

Round 5 8:00 pm

Each round should take 20 minutes or less (officially 16 minutes speaking, cx, and prep time).

The new motion/topic will be released 30 minutes before the next round begins.

FOR THOSE WHO QUALIFY:

The entry fee for Nationals is $75 per student on the team ($50 per student if they are in the hotel block).

Each team must have a full-time judge available for the entirety of the competition, and must have a coach of record. The same person can operate as both the coach and judge. Teams that do not provide a full-time judge and coach for each team will not be permitted to enter.

This means that schools that participate in the West OK WS Runoff must be willing to provide the judge/coach if needed.
