Event Description:

In this one-on-one format, students debate a topic provided by the National Speech & Debate Association. Topics range from individual freedom versus the collective good to economic development versus environmental protection. Students may consult evidence gathered prior to the debate. An entire debate is roughly 45 minutes and consists of constructive speeches, rebuttals, and cross-examination.

Lincoln Douglas will debate the NSDA MARCH/APRIL 2019 resolution. Do NOT prepare the Jan/Feb resolution!

Note: The Steven Davis Invitational will utilize the NSDA Internet Pilot Rules in Lincoln Douglas Debate

Novice categories are open to students in their first academic year of high school competition
