Event Description:

Students author an original speech of not more than 10 minutes (with a 30-second grace period). The speech is memorized. Evaluate speakers based on interest of topic, originality of perspective, organization of ideas, use of relevant supporting material, and delivery (verbal and nonverbal). DO NOT disqualify a student for going over time, record the time on the ballot and the Tab Staff will determine the appropriate consequence based on event rules. Manuscript must be available to the tournament director in the event of a protest.
