Varsity DUO Interpretation
Event Description:
Duo Interpretation is a paired performance. The contestants shall perform from memory a selection of some literary merit from a published drama or prose. While singing is permitted, it should not be excessive or dominate the performance. Material from more than one source is not allowed. Adaptations should be for the purpose of continuity only. No props or costumes are allowed. Students may not make direct eye contact with each other except during the introduction. There should be limited movement, and students may not touch each other. The performers must remain standing and may not sit or kneel on the floor. Students may represent multiple characters, and one or both partners may provide narration. Singing must be limited to not more than 30 seconds throughout entire performance. The introduction must be one composed by the contestants and should name the work and the author.
