Event Description:
"Extemporaneous Speaking is defined as an individual event where an original synthesis of the speaker is presented with current fact and opinion on a designated current event topic, usually presented in conjunction with numerous sources."

In this event, the topics will center around domestic based issues - examples include but are not limited to 2022 Midterms, Biden Administration's COVID response, US Space Policy, US Economic Issues, US Education policy, etc.
Due to the asynchronous nature of this event, students will have a slate of topics released to them on Friday, January 14, at 9:00am EST. Students will choose 1 topic of their choosing and prepare as if it was a normal tournament. Students are to have 30 minutes to prepare, preparation time does not need to be filmed for this tournament.
The time limit is seven (7) minutes maximum with a thirty (30) second grace period.
