Event Description:

6 Minutes Maximum

Individual event; partially memorized piece. The material should be well in mind but not performed as a memorized piece. Performance must include a student-written introduction. Piece may be a cutting from a script, novel, or short story. Performers should use a binder for their script, preferably a black, 5x7, three-ring binder. Performers should use voice, facial expressions, and body language to interpret their piece. Performers must stand, but movement is limited to a three-foot space. Performers may employ “book-tech,” using their notebook as a property. The piece should contain a minimum of 50% narrative.
