Event Description:
This event is for 7/8 and 9th graders who have not competed in high school. Students will flip to see who chooses affirmative or negative. Students will receive 2 topics. The student who did not choose their side, will choose the topic. Each student may use pen and paper for notes. Aff gets one min of prep and has 2 min to give their contentions. Neg gets one min prep and has 2 min to give contentions for their side and may refute Aff. Both get 1 min prep. Aff receives 2 min to refute Neg and restate their own points. Neg immediately refutes Aff and restates their points for their case. Both get 1 min of prep. Aff has 1 minute to sum up why they are winning. Neg immediately stands up after Aff and sum up why they are winning.
