Hello!

Here are some pointers to take into account when I judge a round of PF:

• Weighing is a MUST --> must be comparative
• Strengthen links WHILE de-linking your opponents points
• If you bring up a framework, carry it throughout ALL of your speeches
• I do allow off-time roadmaps
• Try not to be TOO repetitive --> I take note of as much as I can so if I catch a strong point, I will take that into account so there isn't a need to spend too much time going over the same point
• Make sure to refute directly --> In other words, try not to beat around the bush
• If you can, I strongly encourage you to front line, although I understand it may be difficult for Pro teams
• Logic AND Evidence

I understand that this may be a LOT to do in a round but try to do as many as possible. In addition, I will usually be judging based off of how well you did for the division you are in.

I have done debate for four years, one in parliamentary and three in public forum. Here's how I decide on a ballot.

Weighing

- show me what you think you won on and/or how your opponents failed to get their point across

- if neither side weighs, i'll do it myself but it may not go well on either side

Impacts

- If the weighing does not help me decide on a ballot, the impacts made on both sides

- moral/progressives are fine as long as you can properly build the proper link chains

I used to compete in Lincoln Douglas debate and American Parliamentary Debate. I have some but minimal exposure to policy, public forum, congressional debate, and British Parliamentary debate (as a debater and judge).

In my view, debate ought to foster a meaningful educational environment, so I will not tolerate abusive or unproductive tactics. I am very opposed to spreading and I do not tolerate discriminatory language.

Your job as a debater is to persuade me as to why your form of debate is best/why you are right. That said, your burden is to clearly demonstrate the validity of your position through impacts; if I don't understand why your argument actually matters, I will not be convinced to vote for you based solely off of cards, unless the debate is so bad that that there is absolutely nothing else to vote off of.

Flow judge with high school PF experience. Time yourself and speak clearly at a reasonable pace. In other words, don't spread. Don't run Theory or K. I don't flow or vote off of cross. No sticky defense. Remember to weigh and please be respectful to each other. :) If you reference Peppa Pig, I will consider it when assigning speaks.
