Double Entries/Entry Limits:
Double entry is permitted at our tournament for all speech events except Extemp. Students cannot double enter within the debate pattern. Debate does not conflict with individual events. Students may not double enter in Open Policy and IEs.
Judges:
Schools are expected to bring enough judges to cover their entries. One judge will cover 5 IE entries, 2 CX/Parli/PF teams and/or 4 LD debaters. Extra judges are encouraged. If you have any alumni students or willing judges, please contact one of the tournament directors.
Concessions and Other Practical Matters:
-
A judge lounge will be available with food provided. There will not be food offered for sale to competitors though there are a large number of food trucks and other options that can be delivered to campus within a relatively short turnaround time.
-
Parking can be found in the West school lot located on Woodward Avenue and the East school lot located off of 52nd Avenue & SE Clinton. Bus drop off is probably easiest in the turnaround in the West lot. There is also plenty of street parking.
- At 5:00 p.m., teams will move to the performing arts centre until the completion of final rounds and the start of awards.
- Checks for tournament fees should be made payable to 'Franklin High School - Mock Trial/Speech & Debate'.
