So, based upon my delightful experiences participating in the National Civics Debate Championship, I've decided to host a local tournament focusing on the same events, Impromptu Speaking, Extemp Debate, and Congressional Debate. As the name implies, the general subject area for most of the topics and resolutions will be focused on civics. In this format, each student is required to compete in ALL THREE EVENTS. Medals will be awarded to the top 3 competitors in each event and a trophy will be awarded to the top sweepstakes competitor. Yes, each school would be required to provided judges, but if there's a middle school division, high school students with over 150 points would be eligible to judge.

Congress legislation will come from the September 2026 NSDA legislation.
