Speech

Competitors will be current high school students. Judges will be current seniors and above. Current seniors can choose to judge or compete.

In order to accommodate as many competitors as possible, there will be no live rounds

Judges must fill out this Google Form (https://forms.gle/q12CPdocXyxci9Uo6) with their email that they must regularly check during the tournament to receive their rounds.

The recording should include a full view of the piece as you would see in round. Keep in mind the 10 minutes limit, 30 second grace period. 

The video should be uploaded to Youtube (it can be unlisted) and the title should be your speaker code

Codes will be released on 6/18. The URL of your recording must be sent in through this Google Form: https://forms.gle/b1TZXjcYj5s1QLEq5 

All recordings should be sent by 11:59 PM 6/18.

The categories offered will be Dramatic Interpretation, Humorous Interpretation (DI and HI may be combined if there are not sufficient entries), Prose & Poetry (since there is only one video, choose either Prose or Poetry), Original Oratory, and Declamation

The tournament is single entries only.

The number of break rounds are dependent on the number of entries in each category. The goal is three prelims, semi-finals, and finals. Only one video needs to be submitted per competitor for the entirety of the tournament. 

The schedule is for judges only and is listed generally as Speech. 

Final results will be released on 6/21.

All Speech judges should register under Speech. All Speech competitors should register under their individual category.

Friday

  • Round One: 1:30-2:30 PM

Saturday

  • Round Two: 12:30-1:30 PM

  • Round Three: 4:30-5:30 PM

 

Sunday

  • Semi-Finals: 12:30-1:30 PM

  • Finals: 4:30-5:30 PM
