Dear Directors and Coaches,

On behalf of the American Leadership Academy Forensics program, Utah Valley University, and G. Kevin Jones; we would like to invite you to attend the 2^nd Annual Marie Clegg Jones Memorial Tournament held on the spectacular UVU campus in Orem, Utah. The tournament will take place on Friday and Saturday, January 23 and 24, 2015. Entries are currently open.

The MCJ is a National Individual Events Tournament of Champions Qualifying Tournament with bids available in Original Oratory, Duo Interpretation, Dramatic Interpretation, and Humorous Interpretation.

For those traveling there are multiple hotels across the street within a 10 minute walk of the competition site. If you’re worried about being outside in Utah in January (it does sometimes snow), don’t UVU’s buildings are all connected, meaning you can travel through the entire campus without going outside.

This is a sponsored and endowed tournament allowing us to make it one of the most cost effective tournaments in region. In our inaugural year we were able to become one of the largest, most competitive tournaments in the state of Utah. We believe in sustaining the ideals of our namesake Marie Clegg Jones, specifically promoting gender equality in this wonderful activity, in that spirit we will continue to promote and celebrate the great women in speech, leadership, and history throughout our tournament.

We will also be giving again the Marie Clegg Jones Award (a Microsoft Surface or similar prize) to the best all-around competitor in both speech and debate.
