World Schools Debate Information

World School Debate should be listed on the individual preference sheet to indicate whether a competitor prefers a national qualification in an individual or team event or whether they prefer a spot on the World School team. Students must participate in the district tournament in order to apply for the WSDC District team.

We will be allowed to send 2 teams to the national tournament.

Students interested in applying for the Worlds Debate team should create an 8 minute video, upload it to Youtube, and make sure that the video is accessible. All applicants must also fill out this google form and include their link on the form as well: WSD APPLICATION.

Applicants will be judged on their analysis, use of support devices, speaking style, and overall presentation. The deadline for submissions is SUNDAY, MARCH 3rd at 4:00 PM. The Space City WSD Committee will review all applicants and choose the top 10 candidates and alternates. The team members will be announced on 3/23 at the Speech & Debate District Tournament. .

The motion is:

This House regrets the diminished market of available physical media as a result of the rise of online streaming.

Students should prepare a FIRST OPPOSITION SPEECH that includes the Opp case and refutation to Prop arguments.
