Elementary Qualification

Individual districts determine how students qualify to the State tournament. However, districts should limit automatic qualifiers to the top 25% of the participants competing at their district tournament. Larger districts will qualify more entries.

Every school is guaranteed one entry per event (1 Pro, 1 Con, 1 Oratory, and 1 Informative). Independent, new, or other programs are also invited to participate.

There is only one division. We've done away with the DI and DII classifications and have decided to combine all entries into one field. You no longer need to distinguish G&T from regular entries or first year vs returning entries.

For PF, every district/school should ensure that they have an equal number of Pro and Con entries that they are registering for State.

The total number of entries allowed at the State tournament is limited to the rooms we have available. We will do our best to accommodate all entries but reserve the right to limit entries.
