Novice CX Caselist Statement

Dear Friends,

We are so pleased that our tournament has attracted teams from many states. However, for competitors in novice CX this means that we will more permissive than each state’s case list—we believe that’s our duty to hospitality. Here are the details:

AFFIRMATIVE

In terms of the novice case list, we will permit novice CX teams to read any affirmative from the state novice caselist of attending teams. Thus, if we have novice teams from Washington, Oregon, and Idaho, we will permit cases from all of these caselists.

NEGATIVE

We will permit the negative arguments allowed by the caselists. When an explicit permission conflicts with an explicit prohibition on state association caselists, the permission will be the rule. Thus, the CAPITALISM K will be permitted because although the Oregon and Idaho caselists prohibit it, it is explicitly permitted by the Washington state caselist and thus allowed.

THE FLUID CASE LIST

This does mean that our novice caselist may change as entries change. The caselist will be considered final at the close of entries. Please see current entries at: http://galentine.tabroom.com, under the “ENTRIES” tab.

SCHOOLS FROM STATES WITHOUT CASELISTS

If you come from state that does not have a restriction on novice caselists, we ask that you select a case from the Washington state caselist. You may choose a case from another caselist, but if no team from that state attends the tournament, it will not be permitted.

Once entries close, any late entry will be asked to comply with caselists of the states entered before the dateline.
