Judges - If you know judges that could be used for the qualifying series please have them fill out this form https://forms.gle/zA1siVDAYpF1rna57 by Feb 1 Qualifying Numbers Speech & Debate We are Level 3 again this year; that means we allowed three entries to the National Tournament in every speech and debate event as long as at least 10 entries in each event compete in at least one round.
Performance Documentation:

Provide a physical copy of all typed, printed manuscripts for all Individual Events.

Oratories and Informative Speeches should include their works cited page and a total number of directly quoted words. All directly quoted words should be underlined and highlighted in their manuscripts. Please remember that Informative Speaking requires students to have a works cited for the images used in their VAs, as well.

Interp events should include the title/author, ISBN number, publishing company, copyright year, and total number of transition words should be at the top of their typed manuscript. If it is an online source, then the link to the source should be provided. All transition words should be highlighted and underlined.

Interp Events except POI: Original Source Material will be shown at doc check. This can either be the physical text or the digital ebook version but must be original and unaltered. POI will submit their works cited page.

Here is what you will need to have on hand at the tournament in case of a challenge:

Typed, printed manuscripts for all events

Flat lay copies of all Interp Events with all used text highlighted in the order that it is used with transition words written in blue or black ink in the margins.

Congress The number of Senate and House qualifiers is independent of all other district tournament benchmark standards. Senate A district with eight (8) or more schools represented in the Senate will qualify two (2) senators to the National Senate. If fewer than eight (8) schools are represented, no Senate may be seated Representatives A district must have a minimum of 16 competitors to seat a House of Representatives. Refer to the chart below to determine number of House chambers and advancement to the National House (note that the number of students in the far left column is based on participation—speaking or presiding at least once):

Worlds Schools
Our two World Schools teams will be Lone Star Red and Lone Star Blue. This will be an application process again this year. The application deadline is February 3rd. Those applying to be on the World Schools team MUST compete in some portion of the district series.
