Mandatory COVID 19 Protocols for SCDL Fall Varsity Speech Tournament

The health and safety of the students and their families are a priority to the league.  In keeping with this priority, the following protocols are to be followed. The vaccination/testing, masking and distancing protocols are required by the administration of Arroyo High School.

1. All students and adults (coaches, vendors, judges, observers) must have proof of:

full vaccination (last injection at least two weeks prior to the tournament  (November 27).

OR

A negative test for COVID-19 taken within 72 hours of the tournament.

2. Signed Waiver Form - download this form from the Tournament site on Tabroom. If you, the coach, already has a signed form from the student or judge, from the previous 2021 Fall Novice Speech or Debate tournaments, bring the form with you to the tournament or make sure you can provide it if asked.

All coaches must attest in writing that their students and adult participants associated with their school have complied with these requirements.

3. All attendees (students, coaches, judges, observers) must properly wear masks indoors and outdoors, except when they are speaking during a round or eating outdoors. As long as participants are fully masked, social distancing is encouraged but not required.

4. When inside a classroom, ALL participants, including judges, must sit a minimum of six feet away from the current speaker.

It is the responsibility of the coach/chaperone of the team to enforce proper masking and social distancing by their students, judges and observers.

A Google Form will be created and distributed to the coaches the morning of the tournament to attest that their team has met the vaccination/testing requirements and are in possession of signed waiver forms.
