Judging Requirements

Judging Requirements

We ask that all schools do their best to fulfill their judging requirement.  We don’t really have a reservoir of judges to pull from so please do what you can to fulfill your obligation.  Please be sure to include all judge restrictions such as school blocks or division restrictions.  Schools are required to provide judging up to ONE (1) round past their teams’ final drop.  For Speech, this means all judges are obligated through Finals.  For Debate, this means all judges are obligated through the first out round in that particular event minimum. 

In addition - we are asking all judges in the pool to be marked as full-time judges.  Please no partial commitments at this time.  With a limited pool of judges, it just doesn’t work to have some judges asking for partial commitments.  We apologize for the inconvenience, but the needs of the tournament are that we have judges that are available and ready to serve.  Thank you.

Judging requirements are as follows:

Lincoln-Douglas:         1 judge for every 3 competitors or every part thereof.

Policy:                         1 judge for every 2 teams or every part thereof.  Judge obligation must be fulfilled.

Public Forum:              1 judge for every 3 teams or every part thereof.

Individual Events:        1 judge for every 6 competitors or every part thereof.

Congress:                     1 judge for every 6 competitors or every part thereof.

A very limited amount of judges will be available for hire at the following rates:

Lincoln-Douglas:        $150

Policy:                          We just don't have any.  Please provide your judges if you are registering in Policy.  

Public Forum:             $150

Individual Events:       $100

Congress:                     $100

The last day to hire judges will be Friday, October 29^th, 2021.
