Greetings!

Thank you for your interest in attending the 2021 Bulldog Invitational!  As we continue to deal with the global pandemic, I know all of us are wishing/praying/pleading for the world to return to some semblance of ‘normal’…and, unfortunately, that doesn’t seem to be the case just yet.  As such, here are a few thoughts regarding this year’s tournament:

1.  We are fully online again, utilizing NSDA Campus as our online platform.  We were hoping beyond hope that we would be an in-person event, but I met with the East Iowa District Committee and it was decided that all tournaments would be online through the fall.  We’re still holding out hope we can do some in-person events in January, but time will tell.

2.  Our tournament will take place on Friday, November 12th – Saturday, November 13th.  You’ll see a lot of information through the tabs on the right – but here’s the overview:

Congress – We will have 2 sessions of Congress on Friday night, utilizing NSDA Campus.  I’m told this works now...so I hope that's correct. :)

Debate Events – 5 total prelim rounds (3 on Friday and 2 on Saturday) followed by elimination rounds.  LD is an Open Division.  Public Forum has a Novice and Varsity Division.  All divisions will break to Semifinals.

Speech Events – 5 prelim rounds.  All events will be live/synchronous.  Duo Interpretation can utilize split screen or shared screen - either setup is fine, per individual school's guidelines.

Here’s hoping 2021 has been going better for you than 2020!  I know we are all definitely more adapted to this new world order, for better or worse.  I’m hoping to see all of you at the Bulldog Invitational and think things will run smoothly.  We have our entire tab staff back from last year and I believe all tech issues we had last year have been resolved…or so I hope!  See you in November!
