UIL 6A District 25 Spring Meet Speech and Debate

2021 — NSDA Campus, TX/US

Prose and Poetry Entry READ!

Hey Folks,

This years has certainly been an interesting one and the prose and poetry category may truly afford your students an opportunity to speak to these issues.  I wish them well and if you have any questions please let us know.

A few things about prose/poetry

1. These rounds will happen SYNCHRONOUSLY!

2. Documentation

As we will not be able to do in person documentation it is CRITICAL that you prove us with as much documentation as possible.  This is the normal process that you have had to use in the past for regionals and state and is being used here for convenience, but this year it is the only method.  We will not be check documentation on the day of the event as you will need to have these forms submitted to me no later than 5:00pm.  DO NOT USE THE SCRIPT UPLOAD FUNCTION!  YOU MUST EMAIL DIRECTLY!

Please complete fill out the appropriate form and make a copy of the cover of any books, publication information, index and the full selection to accompany the complete form.  Please DO NOT SEND THESE AS SEPARATE FILES.  All documentation for a single student should be in one pdf form.  Please label the form with the following labeling protocol.

SCHOOL - EVENT - STUDENTS NAME

For example:

McNeil_Poetry_Anshul_Gulati

Prose Documentation Coversheet

Poetry Documentation Coversheet

Email: sohail_jouya@roundrockisd.org

3. Location

As in all speech and debate events we were provided an exception and we will take advantage of that to say that student DO NOT have to be on campus to compete.  If your students and your school can accommodate this reality I wish you well.  As other schools have not provide a method for students to compete and the vote to allow a location swap was unanimous we will be taking that option with all events.

4. There will be a utility room established for the category draw on the morning of the tournament for everyone to attend draw for the prelims and finals categories.   You will find the link here and in an email blast once the final schedule is established.
