Acting, Prose, Poetry and Spontaneous/Impromptu PARADIGM RULES

TO MAKE SURE EVERYONE IS ON THE SAME PAGE

Acting - 8 min .. may use a chair... serious or comedic or both... can't do a selection you are also performing in another event... can be original in nature

Prose - 5 min ... basically the NSDA Nationals Supplemental event... can't do a selection you are also performing in another event

Poetry - 5 min ... again this mirrors the  NSDA Nationals Supplemental event... can't do a selection you are also performing in another event

Spontaneous - this is similar to Impromptu...in-room draw...may use up to 3 minutes of preparation time ...maximum 5 minutes of speaking time (using less prep does not give you more speaking time) (conversely, you can't take more prep and speak for less)
