The Portland Urban Debate League is hosting our qualifying tournament for PUDL member schools to qualify the two representative teams who will attend the UDNC Championship at Harvard University April 10-13th.

Teams must consist of students who attend the same school, and who have participated with their school in policy debate in at least two tournaments this school year. They do not need to have participated in these tournaments paired together. PUDL is not limiting entries per school.

Topic and format:

Students will debate the national high school policy debate topic for this academic year.

Resolved: The United State federal government should significantly increase its exploration and/or development of the Arctic.

Tournament rounds will follow the 8-3-5 cross examination debate format with 8 minutes of prep time allocated. Open cross is acceptable in this tournament.
