Varsity Impromptu Prep & Topics

In order to facilitate a timely schedule while still offering four rounds of competition, students will perform their impromptu prep under their coach's direction prior to arriving at the tournament. Coaches will be sent the impromptu motion Friday morning of the tournament.

Students, this tournament operates under the honor code system. Looking up additional information or using outside help is not beneficial to you. This is a learning tournament, and cheating robs your ability to learn the most.

Students will be allowed 15 minutes of prep at the tournament prior to round 1.

Rounds 2 and 3 will utilize the same topic. Students will debate on opposite sides in both rounds. ie. If they were prop in round 2, then they will be opp in round 3.

Round 2 This House prefers a direct democracy to a representative democracy.

Round 3 This House prefers a direct democracy to a representative democracy. (Flip sides from round 2)

Round 4 This House would eliminate standardized testing in schools.

Novice Topics
