Coeur d'Alene High School is excited to host you for the 2025 Rookie Rumble tournament! It has been years since our halls have hosted Speech and Debate, and the time is right for a comeback.

Please view the parking information! (See uploads). There is an unexpected play production this weekend, so we cannot park or enter through the northern entrance off of Dalton Ave. Please use the East parking lot and entrance off of 4th Street.

This tournament will be hosting Novice Divisions for Lincoln Douglas, Public Forum, Congressional, and Policy debate. We will be debating the following topics:

Lincoln Douglas: Resolved: The United States ought to rewild substantial tracts of land.

Public Forum: Resolved: The United States federal government should require technology companies to provide lawful access to encrypted communications.

Policy: Resolved: The United States federal government should significantly increase its exploration and/or development of the Arctic.

The Policy Debate Committee has voted to adopt the NDCA novice affirmative case list:

Domain Awareness Affirmative
Science Diplomacy Affirmative
Russia Natural Gas Affirmative
Native Renewables Affirmative

The committee further voted to allow a Cap K starting in the fall and the EU counterplan starting in January, 2026.
