Plano West Werewolf Halloween Classic

2025 — Plano, TX/US

Dear Colleagues,

You are invited to attend the 2025 Plano West Werewolf Classic on October 24-25, 2025. We are excited to host a tournament that promises not only engaging competition but also the unique ambiance of our Wolf’s Den!

Participants will enjoy top-tier competition as all TFA qualifying events will be offered. This tournament provides students the opportunity to earn NIETOC bids in all speech events and a Semifinals bid to the Extemp TOC. Please note that Extemp competitors may cross-enter into both Domestic and International Extemp, but if they choose to do so, they can only participate in Extemp events. If they are not cross-entered into both Extemp categories, they are allowed to compete in Extemp along with other events. Additionally, participants in LD, CX, PF, or World Schools must refrain from entering other events, while Congress competitors are encouraged to cross-enter into individual events.

The Plano West Werewolf Classic will feature 4 preliminary rounds in all debate events, with elimination rounds following entries, ensuring that all 3-1's will advance. Depending on participation, Congress will have prelims and semi-finals on Friday, with finals scheduled for Saturday morning, and brackets will not be broken for any debate events.

Throughout the tournament, look forward to small Halloween surprises that will add to the festive atmosphere. We will also honor excellence with the Lindsey Petropolous Award for the Top Extemporaneous Speaking Competitor, the Dave Huston Award for the Top Debater, and the Alpha Wolf Award for the Top Individual Events competitor. Additionally, prizes will be awarded for the Top Speech School, Top Debate School, and the Overall Sweepstakes for 1st-3rd place schools in attendance. The awards ceremony promises to be an unforgettable experience.

Mark your calendars for an exciting tournament experience in a truly spirited setting! We look forward to seeing you and your students at the Plano West Werewolf Classic.

Please note: As of October 8, we will invoke the TFA "home team" rule for any event that doesn't have sufficient numbers for TFA qualification. We will reserve the opportunity to enter our students in those events. They will be eligible to receive the requisite TFA qualification points for doing so. Our concern is that many events, especially interp events, have had insufficient numbers at several local tournaments. We want to make sure that your students and ours have a sufficient number of opportunities to compete and earn TFA qualification points. Thank you for understanding.
