Tournament Details:

• Students are strongly encouraged to enter multiple events (in-person & asynchronous).

• Friday: Speech Events (Novice & Varsity)

-UK TOC designation as a speech qualifier for the Tournament of Champions .

• Saturday: Congress, PF, LD, Policy, Big Questions & Supplemental Speech Events.

Friday – Speech Events (Start @ 3:00 PM)

3 prelim rounds + finals (90-minute rounds to allow double entry):

Saturday – Debate & Supplemental Events

Policy & Novice Policy — 8:00 AM (single flight)

• 4 rounds

Public Forum — 8:00 AM (single flight)

• 5 rounds + Quarters/Semi Finals

Congress & Novice Congress — 8:00 AM

• 2 sessions (2.5 hrs each) + final

Panel A — 8:00 AM Start

• Lincoln–Douglas (5 rounds)

• Novice Public Forum (4 rounds + Elim Round)

Panel B — 9:00 AM Start

• Big Questions (3 rounds + Semi Finals)

Based on registration trends the tournament will add additional awards where needed

• Congress: 1st–6th

• LD & PF: 1st–6th

• Speech Events: 1st–5th

• Supplemental Speech Events: 1st–4th

• Async Events: 1st–3rd

• Novice Events: 1st–5th

Judging Requirements:

Async — 1 judge per 6 entries

Speech — 1 judge per 6 entries

Congress — 1 judge per 6 entries

LD, BQ — 1 judge per 2 entries

PF — 1 judge per 2 entries

Policy — 1 judge per 2 entries

Shark Tank -Judge burden covered by collegiate judges

FINES:

No-show judge: $50

Late adds/drops: $5 each

Drop after Dec. 3rd: $25 nuisance fee

Entry Fees:

  • $25 per school per day

  • $5 per student per event

  • $4 per asynchronous event

  • $10 for PF, Policy, Duo & Tag Team Spar
