U Bus 2 Us

2024 — Mountain Home, ID/US

Welcome to Mountain Home High School's returning U Bus 2 Us tournament! We are excited to have you this coming February 2nd and 3rd! Here are a few things to know:

  1. All 14 Idaho speech events will be offered. There will be NIETOC bids for the seven national events: Duo, HI, DI, Extemp, Inform, OO, and POI. Number of bids will be determined at the tournament based on entries.
  2. Open divisions of Policy, Public Forum, Lincoln Douglas, and Congress will be offered. With enough interest, we will also offer Big Questions. Policy will use the NFHS topic on economic inequality. Public Forum will use the NSDA February topic (to be announced on January 1). Lincoln Douglas will use the NSDA Jan/Feb topic. Congress legislation will consist of submitted legislation (2 per school to be sent to alfredson_ar@mtnhomesd.org by January 22) and supplemented with the NSDA January, December, and November congress dockets. The docket will be released on January 24th.
  3. For judges, you are certainly welcome and encouraged to bring judges with you! Mountain Home will have a large pool of judges from the community to draw from, so if finding judges willing to travel is difficult, let us know! We will get it covered.
  4. MHHS will be offering concessions (cash only) located next to the small gym where students will wait between rounds. Students are also welcome to door dash or walk to close destinations, such as Maverick and Briesta.

If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to alfredson_ar@mtnhomesd.org.
