Dear Coaches,

Come one, come all! Helena and Capital High Schools and East Helena High School are pleased to invite you to the All-classes Valley of Gold Speech & Drama Tournament, which will be held December 1^st-2^nd, 2023 in conjunction with the Carroll College Tournament of Champions Debate Tournament. All speech events plus Legislative debate will be at Capital High (100 Valley Drive, Helena); all drama events plus SPOI will be at East Helena High School (2760 Valley Drive, East Helena). All other debate events will be at Carroll College. You must register for the Debate tournament separately.

Please do have an as-accurate-as-possible entry on the site by Wednesday, November 22^nd so that we can ensure judging needs are covered. Drops and adds will be accepted on Tabroom until Thursday, November 30^th at 5pm without penalty. Drops and adds after that must be emailed or texted to Heather Ditch (speech) or Jon Moore (drama) and will be charged a drop/change fee of $10. Please confirm your registration to Heather and Jon by text or email between 8am and 10am on Friday, December 1^st.

Each school will be charged a $35 school registration and a $5 fee per entry.

Tab staff will be selected from participating schools by each site’s Director. Please use the following form to indicate your coaches in attendance and their tab preferences. You must also volunteer one coach as for extemp draw. https://forms.gle/T8iH9N9TjPisNL2x7

Tournament schedule is on the schedule page. Squads should not enter the Speech or Drama buildings until after 3:00pm. Speech and Debate buses should NOT use the bus lanes so as to not interfere with school buses. Student commons will be in the CHS and EHHS cafeterias.

EXTEMP: Extemp draw will take place one half hour before the Speech round start time in Room 6.

Awards will take place in the Auditorium at Capital High and East Helena after finals.

Concessions will not be offered. There are lots of delivery options. Hospitality will be offered for coaches, judges, and bus drives in the Teacher’s Lounge. The tab room will be in the respective libraries.
