NSDA Canada National Qualifier Public Forum

ANNOUNCEMENT FROM NSDA FOR 2023 ONLY:

PF Teams may compete in a hybrid format (students need not attend the same school as members of that team)

Beginning in 2024, all partnership teams competing at the NSDA Qualifiers in Canada (except WSD) must attend the same school.

Dear Coaches and Provincial Coordinators,

The BL Debate community is thrilled to be hosting three separate events, viz., Big Questions Debate, Congressional Debate, and Public Forum Debate in conjunction with the National Speech and Debate Association, Each style of debate will qualify students to the National Tournament (June 11-16, 2023). Each event will have its own tabroom registration site.

We have several announcements concerning this year’s tournament.

* All team competitors, whether from schools or academies, must attend the same school in order to participate;

* All judges will be required to use electronic ballots in all divisions;

*We will host divisions for both HS and MS students. Middle school students will compete in 4 rounds with awards given to top teams and speakers. High School students will also receive team and speaker awards.

Lastly, we will not offer in-person registration on Thursday before the tournament. All registration and final confirmation must be completed online. Participants will be required to confirm final entry details in lieu of traditional registration between 8 am and 10 pm PDT on Thursday April 6, 2023. All fees must be received in Vancouver by noon PDT on Thursday, April 6, 2023.
