The Coppell Classic

January 6-7, 2023

Dear Colleagues and Competitors,

The Coppell Speech and Debate Program cordially invites you to the Coppell Classic, our 22nd annual TFA and NIETOC qualifying tournament, January 6-7, 2023. In addition to our main tournament, we will also offer a swing portion of the tournament hosted by Coppell 9th providing the option to compete in IEs in two tournaments the same weekend.

The tournament offers varsity competition in CX, LD, WSD, PF, Congress, and individual events. We will also offer novice CX and novice LD. Debate will feature 4 preliminary rounds. The tournament will be offered in-person, and we are eager to welcome you to our campus.

We are deeply saddened by the loss of Glenda Ferguson. Ms. Ferguson was a powerful force in the speech and debate community, and she served the Coppell Speech & Debate program for more than a decade. We are pleased to honor her memory with a special Grand Sweepstakes Award she would truly be proud of.

We are thankful to those who have supported the growth of this tournament over the years. We promise efficient & accurate tabulation, qualified judging, top-notch customer service, and excellent hospitality.
