Junior High Tiger Classic

2023 — Conroe, TX/US

Ladies and gentlemen,

On behalf of the Conroe High School Speech and Debate department, I cordially invite you to the first annual Junior High Conroe Classic! We welcome one and all and will be hosting several TFA, UIL, and NSDA formats IN PERSON!

All TOPICS, RESOLUTIONS, LEGISLATION, ETC. WILL BE LISTED ON THE INFORMATION PAGE CLOSER TO THE TOURNAMENT DATE.

We will have trophies and ribbons per event. Coaches, we want you to be free to relax and let your students have a great day of competition and get plenty of experience in their chosen formats. We aren’t asking any coaches to judge, so please consider this when selecting your tournament schedule!

Fees will be set as of Friday, February 10th. Drops after this date will incur a $10 fee on top of your registration fee for that entry. Please email with any changes after this date. If you have any questions, please feel free to email.

Drop fees will be collected and billed to schools dropping the day of the competition.

HOUSEKEEPING & COVID-19

Independent Entries: All entries must be sanctioned by their school and have supervision by a chaperone who is an employee of the school or school district.

Brackets: Brackets will be broken in all debate events.

Congress: Students may run for Presiding Officer. Candidates should be entered during online registration.

Junior and Senior Divisions: For the purposes of this tournament, Junior competitors are those students in their first year of competitive speech and/or debate. If you have debated in a tournament setting, you are NOT a Junior!

Judging: Our judging pool consists of carefully selected high school students who have successfully competed in high school speech and debate.

Arrival: Buses will drop off students along the bus ramp at the back of the school. If traveling with a small group and a rental vehicle, please feel free to use the faculty parking lot.

Mask Policy: Per Conroe ISD policy, masks will be optional. We encourage those who feel that it is in their best interest to wear a mask to do so. For no reason should a coach or judge require a competitor to remove their mask.

Cafeteria Seating: Schools may seat themselves upon arrival at the direction of the coach.

Concessions: Concessions will be available for purchase for students in the cafeteria. Students may also purchase food from the kitchen provided by our amazing local businesses!
