The Wood River Round Robin

2022 — Hailey, ID/US

The Wood River Round Robin

Saturday, October 22 - Wood River HS

Welcome to the 2022 WRRR, hosted by Wood River High School in Hailey, Idaho.  We are excited to host you for a day of novice debate in Congressional Debate, Lincoln Douglas Debate, and Public Forum Debate.  There will be 5 prelim rounds with no eliminations in LD and PF and 3 sessions of Congressional Debate (no finals).  All entries that record a winning record (3-2 or better) in Debate (LD and PF) as well as an equal number of representative in Congress, will receive awards.  There will be team sweepstakes for the top 3 teams that will be determined by the best 10 overall entries counting per school with a total point accumulation determining the overall placements.

Due to past access issues for all to the internet, we will run this event "old school" with paper postings and ballots.

Congress:  We will be using the D3 legislative packet posted on the website here.  We will use the first 12 bills listed in the packet, in order, and may add others if we run out of legislation.  Thanks!

PF and LD:  We will be using the Nov/Dec NSDA topics in LD and PF for this tournament and single-flight rounds.  Note the judge requirement below!

SPECIAL NOTE:  Students that would have competed in a previous novice level tourament this season are NOT eligible to compete.  This is reserved for BRAND NEW debaters.  Thank you for your understanding.

Judges:  We will utilize varsity judges for the event.  You must have the following to cover your entries:

1 judge for every 2 LD or PF entries (enough judges means we will be able to single-flight rounds, otherwise they will be flighted)

1 judge for every 5 Congress entries

Entry Fees:  Entry fees are $10 for Congress and LD and $15 for PF.  There is a $7 fee for each judge you bring.  This fee will help offset the cost of our lunch for all judges and competitors as well as award expenses.  Please make checks payable to Wood River HS Debate.  Thank you.
