Dear students, coaches and parents, 

St. Mary’s School is pleased to invite you to a middle school Big Questions tournament on Sunday, December 12th. The tournament will be hosted in-person on St. Mary’s campus, and all students in grades 6-8 are welcome to attend. There is no cost to enter.

Big Questions is the only event that will be offered at this tournament. Students may opt to enter either individually or with a partner. A guide to this debate format can be found here, and the resolution is provided below:

Resolved: On balance, societies benefit from religious belief and practice.

Judging will be provided by qualified high school debaters and by parent volunteers. Please bring extra judges if you can and make sure that both they and your students have Tabroom accounts set up.

Schedule:
Check-in/Judge Training: 2:30 PM-3:00 PM

Round 1: 3:00 PM-4:00 PM
Round 2: 4:00 PM-5:00 PM
Round 3: 5:00 PM-6:00 PM

Awards: 6:00 PM-6:30 PM
