Open divisions in all WSFA speech events plus SPAR and Ed Comm

 

We are thrilled to be a TOC Bid PF Tournament.  Gold TOC bids will be awarded to students reaching the Finals in Open PF.  Silver TOC bids will be awarded to the two not advancing teams in the semi-finals of Open PF.  For more information about this elite tournament, please visit https://ci.uky.edu/UKDebate/gold-pf-bid-tournaments at the University of Kentucky.

 

We are a NIETOC bid tournament!  NIETOC uses a sliding scale to determine the number of bids based on the number of entries in each event.  Please check out http://nietoc.com/ for more information about this phenomenal tournament!

Judging ratio: 1:3 in LD, 1:3 in PF, 1:2 in Policy, 1:5 in Congress, and both synchronous and asynchronous speech

Speech submission due at 9:00 PM

Thursday, January 27

Speech ballots and links distributed to speech judges, hopefully, before 8pm; these ballots are due by 8pm on Friday BUT if you are judging debate/congress, you will need to complete them before 3:45pm.

Friday January 28--PACIFIC STANDARD TIME

Rd 1 Debate: 3:45 –   6:00              Session 1 Congress: 4:00 –  6:15

Rd 2 Debate: 6:00 –   8:00              Session 2 Congress: 7:00 –  9:15

Rd 3 Debate: 8:00 – 10:00

Yes—prelim LD and PF debates are double-flighted.

Saturday January 29--PACIFIC STANDARD TIME

Finals of Asynchronous 8am--Judges receive ballots and video access; ballots due by 3pm.

Rd 1 IE Synchronous: 8 – 9:15          (Extemp Prep begins at 8am)

Rd 4 Debate: 9:15 – 11:15              Super Session Congress 9:15 – 11:15 

Rd 2 IE Synchronous: 11:15 – 12:30  (Extemp Prep begins at 11:15am)

Rd 5 Debate: 12:30 – 2:30              Super Session Congress 12:30 – 2:30

Rd 3 IE Synchronous: 2:30 – 3:45    (Extemp Prep begins at 2:30pm)

Elim 1 Debate: 3:45 – 4:45  ALL JUDGES JUDGE—THIS IS ABSOLUTELY NEEDED!

Finals IE (All Events): 4:30 – 6:00—ALL JUDGES NEEDED!

(Extemp Prep begins at 4:30pm, debaters in octos will be scheduled in the middle of the finals round to avoid conflicting with the debate elims)  Async Finals use the same prelim videos and are judged on Saturday from 8am to 3pm.

Elim 2 Debate: 5:45 – 6:45  ALL JUDGES JUDGE—DO NOT LEAVE THE TOURNAMENT! 

Awards I: 6:45 – 7:30 with jazzy powerpoint

Elim 3 Debate: 7:30 – 8:30  ALL JUDGES WITH DEBATERS IN QUARTERS JUDGE

Elim 4 Debate: 8:45 – 9:45  ALL JUDGES WITH DEBATERS IN SEMIS JUDGE

Awards II for Elims after Awards I happen in round

ALL JUDGES are obligated for at least 2 out rounds beyond their TEAM’s last competitor.
